Bless Your Heart of the Week: Kendall Jenner

So this past Sunday night were the Billboard Music Awards. Now I'd be lying if I said I watched them. Music awards shows have never really been my thing. For instance last summer when the internet nearly EXPLODED over what a mess the VMA's were, I was watching a double feature of the "National Treasure" movies on ABC Family with a bottle of wine and a bag of potato chips LOVING MY LIFE. What I do is YouTube the highlights the next day to get caught up, so don't worry I have experienced Miley Cyrus' tongue-ography and also got to witness Justin Timberlake’s performance, all 90-seconds of which he deemed appropriate to share with his N*SYNC brethren for a reunion. So I woke up this Monday morning and took to my computer in hopes of seeing some fierce dancing and some not so fierce lip syncing from the previous night’s show.

What I never expected was to be welcomed by the wealth of riches that is this 17 second video:

Here we have Miss Kendall Jenner, who has been given the task of introducing "5 Seconds of Summer". Now being the jazz loving, standards singing gal that I am, I haven’t the slightest idea who "5 Seconds of Summer" are, but then again I’m not being paid an exorbitant amount of money to read a teleprompter so I think I’m off the hook. She starts off well… looking effortlessly fabulous and totally cool. But then she begins to introduce this group of gents as “One Direction”, a different boy band of note, and things head south. She stops (good girl, Kendall), but then instead of going back on prompter and finishing up, she decides instead to declare, on national television mind you, that she isn’t a very good reader.

I personally can’t get through this clip without saying, “Ohhhhh… Bless Her Heart”. You're more than welcome to try. Let me know how it goes.

With Grace and Good Humor,

My name is Mary Lane Haskell and my two "claims to fame" are that I have Dolly Parton's fax number and that Reese Witherspoon once liked a post on my Instagram.  I am an actor, a writer, and a profound Chipotle enthusiast making my way in Los Angeles while trying to stay true to my family's southern roots, all with grace and a touch a good humor.  I'm so glad you're here!
