The Perfect Date

Thanks to the movie "Miss Congeniality", a hysterically funny look into the pageant world through the eyes of an FBI agent who is having to go undercover and compete in The Miss United States Pageant, April 25th will always be known as "The Perfect Date". In the movie, during the interview portion of the pageant, Miss Rhode Island gets asked "What would you consider to be your perfect date?", meaning a romantic night out. But she replies oh so earnestly:

"My perfect date would be April 25th. It's not too hot, and not too cold.

All you need is a light jacket!"

I couldn't agree more. And being the QUEEN of light jackets myself, April 25th has quickly become one of my favorite days of the year... right up there with Christmas and the day Daylight Savings Time ends.

This year I went with classic black leather layered over a clean white button down collared shirt and jeans. That definitely wasn't me in the cover photo - but she was wearing the same outfit and lip as me and I needed something prettier than this poorly lit selfie to get your attention. She was just missing one thing... so I'd like to amend to the quote just a little:

"... All you need is a light jacket! And a hat if, like me, you haven't washed your hair in 3 days."

There... perfect.
